Bright Future Studio / Communications Coordinator Posted: December 2022 Bright Future Studio (brightfuture.studio) seeks a half-time contract Communications
Coordinator to support a variety of ongoing and upcoming client projects with traditional- and social-media engagement, online event planning, promotion, and execution, writing and editing, and related tasks.

  • You will likely be early in your career, and you will have a background in communications, media, marketing, or public policy.
  • You are relentlessly curious, engaged with current events, have a good sense of humor and emotional intelligence, and have a strong interest in sustainability and/or urbanism.
  • You will know and have experience with the most effective strategies and tools of professional communications, and understand the lead drivers and impacts of the climate crisis\xe2\x80\x94as well as the solutions.
  • Though no design work is involved, you will have an appreciation of and eye for effective design.

  • Compensation based on experience, between $28 and $32/hour to start, with a review of both hours and compensation aer six months.
Our Expectations
  • As a part-time independent contractor, you will bring your own equipment to the gig.
As Bright Future Studio lacks physical offices, this is a remote-working position.
  • You will have strong social media management experience on an array of platforms, including Twitter and LinkedIn. Some experience with mailing list platforms would be helpful.
  • You will have a high standard of professionalism, a mix of enthusiasm and humility, and a willingness to learn and not take yourself too seriously.
  • You are a critical thinker with self-awareness and the confidence to offer suggestions, with rationale, on how we might improve a given process or project.
  • You will take confidentiality seriously, with appropriate care of proprietary and sensitive documents and materials, strong passwords, and security discipline.
  • You don\xca\xbct need a masters degree, but do hold a post-secondary education or certificate in a related discipline, and some directly relevant work experience.
  • You don\xca\xbct need to be \xe2\x80\x9cdetail oriented,\xe2\x80\x9d but you do need to recognize which details really matter.
