Position Description
Shkaabe Makwa supports culturally relevant systems initiatives in mental health and addictions services to achieve health equity and community wellness in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit and M\xc3\xa9tis communities and service providers across Ontario. Through the implementation of wise practices, evidence-based models, trauma-informed interventions, and the advancement of research, Shkaabe Makwa strives to transform health outcomes which harmonize traditional knowledge and medical expertise. Shkaabe Makwa at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, permanent Content Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Wellness Innovation with a dotted line to the Communications Manager with the Public Affairs team, the Content Coordinator will lead communications for Shkaabe Makwa activities including trainings, events, webinars, and knowledge exchange products. The successful candidate will develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies and provide coordination and support to communication channels. These channels include social media, website, newsletter, a digital magazine, as well as graphic design for products such as infographics, posters, and other knowledge resources. The incumbent is responsible for creating high-quality communications that are compliant with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). The candidate will complete work remotely therefore the position can be located anywhere in Ontario. Some travel may be required into the Toronto office at 60 White Squirrel Way or throughout Ontario, including remote First Nations communities. Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or college diploma in Arts, Media, Journalism, Communications, Education or another related field and three years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience and expertise in written and verbal communications is required, as well as applied knowledge of communication/marketing strategies, AODA compliance, web design, graphics and media content development. Familiarity and experience with e-publishing software (e.g. MailChimp), content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, SharePoint), analytics software (e.g. Google analytics), social media platforms, graphic design programs (e.g. Adobe InDesign) and editing software is required. Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher) is essential. Familiarity with working with HTML and CCS, Adobe Creative Cloud and video editing software such as Final Cut is preferred. The capacity to think strategically and creatively is critical, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates who are First Nations, Inuit and M\xc3\xa9tis communities are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience working with and alongside Indigenous communities, organizations and with Indigenous-specific content is required. Bilingualism (French/English) or an Indigenous language is an asset.
