The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience with a background in video, writing, graphic design and a passion for multimedia storytelling. The Communications Coordinator will report to and work closely with the Manager, Public Relations & Corporate Communications. This is a hybrid position and the successful candidate will be expected to work a minimum of two days per week at Bayshore\xe2\x80\x99s National Development Centre in Mississauga, ON.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality videos, writing and graphic design for all of Bayshore\xe2\x80\x99s internal and external channels following our branding guidelines.
  • Create engaging multimedia content for Bayshore\xe2\x80\x99s social media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Write articles and press releases working closely with Bayshore staff and external partners \xe2\x80\x93 conducting interviews, writing, proofreading and fact-checking.
  • Write thought leadership blogs for senior leadership and support colleagues with internal and external communications.
  • Contribute to annual strategic planning for National Communications department.
  • Assist with in-person and virtual event planning, including town halls, panels and other staff events.
  • Stay on top of industry news and monitor social media for mentions of Bayshore.
  • Regularly review analytics to see how our content is performing; use data to inform content planning.
  • Upload to content management systems such as WordPress and SharePoint.
  • Collaborate with healthcare system partners on cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company\'s Quality Management System.
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.

Work Location : National Office , Mississauga ( Hybrid )

Job Qualification

Education and Experience
  • University degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
Other Skills and Abilities
  • Strong storytelling skills with a digital first mindset.
  • Creative and strategic thinker; always looking for opportunities to enhance Bayshore\xe2\x80\x99s brand perception and increase engagement with content, both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of CP Style, WordPress, SharePoint and Google Analytics.
  • Familiar with teleconferencing platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience working in health care communications and general knowledge of the Canadian health care landscape.
  • Experience working with media; pitching stories and handling inquiries.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong work ethic and project management skills.
