:Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto's subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.At Metrolinx, equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to living our values of serving with passion, thinking forward and playing as a team.Our Internal Communications team is seeking a Communications Coordinator, under the supervision of the Manager, Internal Communications, to develop and coordinate accurate and effective communications strategies, which inform and enhance relations with Metrolinx employees across the organization.What will I be doing?

  • Develop communications strategies to enhance Metrolinx's corporate goals and reputation.
  • Write and produce printed and online material, such as newsletters, backgrounders, presentations, corporate reports and announcements, and intranet updates.
  • Support internal events, including Town Halls and leadership forums.
  • Ensure awareness of the corporation and its services.
  • Provide communications expertise to all levels of staff, from frontline employees to C-suite executives.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
  • Completion of a four-year post-secondary program in communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in creative writing and editing for corporate communications, supporting special events and developing communication strategies.
  • Comprehensive background in producing publications and other print and online material from concept to completion.
  • Knowledge of communication techniques, desktop publishing, word-processing, presentation, web-authoring, social media, blog and e-newsletter applications.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, the public, and other partners.
  • Experience with Canva considered an asset.
  • Research, planning and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with the principles of media relations, marketing, and processes of public relations
