We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to provide support in the development and implementation of public relations and corporate communications services. The coordinator will be responsible for the completion of assignments that include content/story production in all mediums; maintenance of corporate channels and platforms; stakeholder hosting, tours and planning of in-person and virtual events; brand and marketing (advertising, sponsorships, etc.). This position also completes basic research/analysis and synthesizes qualitative and quantitative data to deliver communications strategies, plans and materials that meet high professional standards and support Alberta Innovates\xe2\x80\x99 (AI) mandate and goals.

Working closely with members of the Marketing and Communications team, the coordinator takes part in strategic communications planning and implementation, crisis communications and issues management.
The successful incumbent will be accountable for, but not limited to the following:

Corporate Communications
Actively help in the development and execution of corporate communications plans and activities.
Meet with business unit and program staff and assume the lead role on projects as assigned.
Provide communications tactics, services and support for corporate and division projects to advance AI\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and operational goals and deliverables in measurable ways.
Contribute actively to the communications function in planning, implementing and assessing results of internal/external communication projects.
Research, interview, write and produce content that is on-brand and audience-focused.
Undertake and manage tasks for electronic, digital, visual and print production (including design, photography, editing, proofing and impact evaluation).
Work closely in support of Marketing & Communications business partners and team members to ensure quality control, timeliness and cost-efficiency of communication processes and results.

Even Planning and Projects
Work with Marketing & Communications colleagues, vendors and others to plan and implement high impact partner events, media announcements, client/dignitary tours, and hosting activities that strengthen the corporation\xe2\x80\x99s brand image and reputation.
Liaises with Senior Management, business program directors and M&C colleagues to ensure concepts are approved and executed professionally.
Assume role as assigned on specific public outreach, partnership events and activities, including liaising with counterparts at partner organizations as needed.
Develop processes, timelines and secures resources and vendors needed to ensure tight deadlines are met and joint initiatives are smoothly implemented.

Brand Management
Coordinate and manage internal communications and external vendors to ensure the integrity and adherence to AI brand message architecture and visual identity guidelines.
Provide content/publishing guidance to ensure corporate and subsidiary website(s) are effective communication channels and client-supporting tools.
Support production, distribution and evaluation of content, and the communications vehicles, channels and tools as needed.
Anticipate program client needs/opportunities; works toward alignment with brand message architecture for cohesive look, feel, voice and best impacts in all materials.

Digital Media Production
Produce social/digital media assets using widely accepted marketing communications applications and tools.
Support development of high-integrity social and digital activations, and partner/program cross-promotions.
Participate in podcast, audio and video production (including scripting, storyboard, editing).
Maintains current knowledge of emerging social/digital media tools and best practices.

Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
Diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, broadcasting, or English.
Two years related experience.
Experience coordinating advertising, publications and events.
Membership with International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Canadian Public Relations Society (CRPS) or related professional association.
Knowledge of media trends, social analytics, and digital tools and platforms to continuously improve effectiveness of intranet and corporate website.
Ability to provide timely, accurate and professional communication services in all mediums.
Able to provide communication services consistent with AI\xe2\x80\x99s protocols, processes and quality standards.
Ability to provide communications products and services that help achieve AI\xe2\x80\x99s mandate and support the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic direction.
Strong, effective, and creative communicator \xe2\x80\x93 both written and oral.
Self-motivated, organized, results-oriented, effective time manager; thrives in fast-paced environment.
Superior interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Creative flair for visual presentation, writing, web and digital asset production and social media.
High computer and digital media literacy; proficient in design/publishing, video/ photography, email marketing programs such as Mailchimp.
Solid research, writing, editing and proofreading skills. Knows Canadian Press Style Guide.
Strong consulting and project management skills.
Natural relationship builder, problem solver and confident decision-maker.
Proficient with the English Language.
