We\'re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.Position OverviewOn a rotating basis, operates a multiple-position telephone switchboard and performs the various duties at Inquiry, including cashier functions and overhead paging.Experience

  • Current working knowledge to operate a multi-line telephone console.
  • At least one-year previous experience as a telephone operator required or a minimum of one-year direct receptionist experience (preferably in a health care setting) required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 education, required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Medical Terminology Certificate, preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent keyboard skills, minimum 40 WPM in a typing test, required.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), required.
  • Demonstrated numerical ability to perform arithmetic calculations. Must attain 60% in math test.
  • An excellent command of the English language.
  • Ability to page in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
  • Ability to cope with a fluctuating workload.
  • Superior communications and interpersonal skills an asset.
