Hiring Unit: Faculty of Science
Position Summary: The Faculty of Science at McGill University aims to be a leader in scientific discovery and in finding solutions critical to economic and human development, including key questions in the environmental sciences, new materials, and new technologies.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to building awareness of Faculty of Science research, people and students, publications, events and other initiatives, consistent with the University\xe2\x80\x99s and Faculty\xe2\x80\x99s missions and strategic direction.
Produce videos about the Faculty of Science and its students and faculty
Photograph research initiatives and events
Assist Faculty of Science communication team with media production
Conduct interviews with faculty and students on campus
Collaborate with Faculty of Science staff on other multimedia tasks as needed
Note: this position will require 6 to 10 hours per week
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Demonstrated experience producing and editing videos for social media
Demonstrated video and photography experience in varied lighting and sound conditions
Video editing experience with Adobe Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro an asset
Graphic design experience and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite an asset
Reliable, with strong organization and time management skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Knowledge of the Faculty of Science an asset
Registered McGill Science student preferred
