SUMMARY: This position is funded through Ontario\xe2\x80\x99s Job Creation Partnerships (see more details below). This position reporst to the Festival\xe2\x80\x99s Technical Director. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support Digi60 by attending Festival events and capturing assets and collateral for social media, website, etc.
  • Create, maintain and execute elements to support the festival\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and communications plan across all platforms including social media, website (blog) and podcast.
  • Bring creative concepts and ideas to meetings and supporting the team by pro-actively implementing notes and changes.
  • Assist in preparing newsletters, press releases and other communications as needed.
  • Change priorities and communicate hurdles or challenges as they arise.
  • Working on special projects with the Technical Director related to marketing or social media outreach.
  • Support or work in conjunction with Festival Assistant as needed.
  • Other on-site event support during live events as needed.
  • Work with student placement, festival volunteers and other staff as needed.

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient with Google Business Suite

  • Well-organized, works well under pressure and independently if needed, takes on projects simultaneously and autonomously.
  • Excellent oral skills in English, French is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of implanting social media/content plans
  • Design skills and experience with Canva or Adobe Premiere an asset
  • Experience in event management or the arts sector would be considered an asset
  • Passionate about Ottawa\xe2\x80\x99s independent filmmaking community an asset
Additional Qualifications Required: Candidate eligibility for JCP is determined according to the following criteria:
  • An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week
  • A permanent resident living in Ontario who is legally authorized to work in Canada
In addition, candidates must meet, and have documentation for, at least one of the following eligibility criteria:
  • Have an active Employment Insurance (EI) claim or
  • Previously established an EI benefit period within the last five years or
  • Paid employee payroll premiums (EI premiums \xe2\x80\x93 Box 18 on your T4) in at least three of the previous ten years (where earnings have been at least $2K in each of those years or
  • Received the Employment Insurance Emergency Response benefit (CERB) within the previous five year
NOTE 1: Those registered in full-time academic studies are not eligible to be considered. NOTE 2: If you are eligible to receive Employment Insurance (EI) benefits you must apply for those benefits in advance of JCP participation. Remuneration: $662 (gross) per week provided by the Province of Ontario ($20.6875 based on 32 hours per week). Job Type: Fixed term contract
