Up to 5 temporary full-time position for 4 months intended specifically for students currently enrolled in marketing, communications, or public relations related or equivalent post-secondary diploma or degree program, commencing in May 2025
The City of Edmonton has a terrific opportunity for communications and marketing students to support the Communications and Engagement teams in City Operations. You will be responsible for implementing communications and marketing strategies through the development of tactics and materials that support key projects and strategic goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while gaining valuable knowledge and skills in an empowering environment.
As a part of the team, you may:
Provide communications, engagement and/or marketing advice that supports strategic goals and objectives
Support the development and implementation of communications, engagement and/or marketing plans
Participate in business partner meetings and coordinate communication, engagement and/or marketing activities
Day-to-day management and content creations duties for corporate social social media accounts
Assist with event planning and on-site execution
Gather, analyze, synthesize and report on public engagement feedback
Demonstrate the City's Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent as well as the seven commitments made to reconciliation through the City's Indigenous Framework
Collaborate with the Communications & Engagement teams to support the coordination of events, including but not limited to, preparation of materials and event logistics
Support research and analysis to contribute to the evaluation and corporate alignment of communication strategies
Qualifications
:Current enrollment at a post-secondary institution, in an marketing, communications, or public relations related diploma or degree program
Experience using Google Workspace applications or equivalent applications
Experience in development and implementation of marketing and/or communications strategies
Experience in management of social media accounts
Assets:
Experience using or referencing public engagement principles and techniques

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
