A Day in the Life

As Communications and Engagement Representative, you will report directly to the Director of Communications, and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and marketing campaigns, promotional events and projects from conception to completion. Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you can expect to dig into in this exciting, hands-on role:

• Create member email communications in a timely manner using the email marketing platform Mailchimp.
• Develop engaging visual, video and publicity materials for the UFCW 1518 (I.e., posters, fliers, swag).
• Assist Officers with internal correspondence and support with copywriting and mass texts.
• Create stories, reports, publications, email marketing campaigns and newsletters to engage stakeholders.
• Lead and seek out opportunities to engage members in the bargaining process.
• Own the creation of social media content, and update website content to help grow engagement.
• Manage UFCW 1518\xe2\x80\x99s overall brand, ensuring consistent and proper use by establishing process and guidelines for effective and efficient communication and branding efforts.
• Implementation of web development of our landing pages and creating a variety of design templates.

Your Qualifications

• 7 years\' experience in a marketing or communications role.
• An undergraduate degree or equivalent in journalism, public relations, communications, business, or related field.
• Extensive and proven work experience executing successful campaigns using a variety of print and online communications.
• Previous work experience in a communications firm, public relations agency or similar operation.
• Professional knowledge of various software and apps such as Google, Outlook, MailChimp, Adobe software, Content Management Systems (CMS), WordPress, HTML, and CSS.
• Ability to present diverse materials effectively.

It\xe2\x80\x99s a Bonus If You Have

• Experience using a CRM system.
• JavaScript and PHP experience.
• Knowledge of the role, objectives and activities of labour unions.
