Job Summary.



The Presbyterian College is a theological college in Montreal, committed to the formation of transformational leaders in the church and community. We are a college of The Presbyterian Church in Canada but welcome students from many denominations and from the global church. We offer our academic programs in affiliation with other educational institutions, including McGill University and the Montreal School of Theology. We also have a Leadership Centre, dedicated equipping leaders for varieties of service in the church and community.

The Communications and Development Officer, working with the Principal, is responsible for strategy and implementation in relation to fundraising and donor relations. The person in this role is also responsible for overall communications of the college, which includes print, social media, and website. The position is key to the strategic work of the College, particularly as it works to implement a new strategic plan in 2026.

Key Responsibilities



Development responsibilities include:

Track and respond to donations and related contributions. Manage donation/donor database. Research and write applications to foundations. Build communications strategy for alumni and existing donors. Lead the successful planning and execution of any virtual or in-person fundraising events. Work strategically to increase overall donations and grants to the college.
Communications responsibilities include:

Manage website - content, announcements, event registration, etc. Mange social media content and feeds Compile and distribute college newsletters - print and email. Prepare other communication tools, including thank you letters. Update contact databases on a regular basis. Serve as liaison with any print, photography, web service, or other companies.

Qualifications/Requirements



This position requires:

At least 3 years of experience in development and fundraising. At least 3 years of experience in communications. Superior written and spoken communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with various social media platforms. Experience with website management and proficient with Wordpress. Proven experience with other requisite technologies: Constant Contact, Stripo, Sumac database, etc. An ability to work well with others, to show initiative when it is required and take direction when needed. Written and spoken English fluency. English-French full bilingualism. Supportive of the vision and mission of the college and the work of theological education

Compensation



The compensation package includes (in addition to the salary indicated above):

Participation in the pension plan of the college. A generous health and dental plan, along with group benefits. 5 weeks of paid vacation, annually.

Le responsable des communications et du developpement, en collaboration avec le directeur, est charge de la strategie et de la mise en oeuvre en matiere de collecte de fonds et de relations avec les donateurs. La personne occupant ce poste est egalement responsable de l'ensemble des communications du college, notamment les publications imprimees, les reseaux sociaux et le site web. Ce poste est essentiel au travail strategique du college, en particulier dans le cadre de la mise en oeuvre d'un nouveau plan strategique en 2026.

Principales responsabilites



Les responsabilites en matiere de developpement comprennent :

Suivre et repondre aux dons et contributions connexes. Gerer la base de donnees des dons/donateurs. Rechercher et rediger des demandes aupres des fondations. Elaborer une strategie de communication pour les anciens eleves et les donateurs existants. Diriger la planification et l'execution reussies de tout evenement de collecte de fonds virtuel ou en personne. Travailler de maniere strategique pour augmenter l'ensemble des dons et des subventions accordes au college.
Les responsabilites en matiere de communication comprennent :

Gerer le site web - contenu, annonces, inscription aux evenements, etc. Gerer le contenu et les flux des reseaux sociaux. Compiler et distribuer les bulletins d'information du college - version imprimee et electronique. Preparer d'autres outils de communication, notamment des lettres de remerciement. Mettre a jour regulierement les bases de donnees de contacts. Assurer la liaison avec les entreprises d'impression, de photographie, de services web ou autres.

Qualifications/Exigences



Ce poste requiert :

Au moins 3 ans d'experience dans le developpement et la collecte de fonds. Au moins 3 ans d'experience dans la communication. Excellentes competences en communication ecrite et orale. Excellentes competences organisationnelles et souci du detail. Maitrise des differentes plateformes de reseaux sociaux. Experience dans la gestion de sites web et maitrise de Wordpress. Experience averee dans l'utilisation d'autres technologies requises : Constant Contact, Stripo, base de donnees Sumac, etc. Capacite a bien travailler avec les autres, a faire preuve d'initiative lorsque cela est necessaire et a suivre les instructions lorsque cela est necessaire. Maitrise de l'anglais ecrit et parle. Bilinguisme anglais-francais complet. Adhesion a la vision et a la mission du college et au travail d'education theologique.

Remuneration



Le package de remuneration comprend (en plus du salaire indique ci-dessus) :

Participation au regime de retraite du college. Un regime de sante et dentaire genereux, ainsi que des avantages sociaux collectifs. 5 semaines de vacances par an.

Pay: $55,000.00-$64,000.00 per year
