The Communications Advisor works closely with the Manager and/or Director and other members of the Communications, Partnerships and Primary Care Strategy team developing strategies and tools to improve the flow and quality of information to Island Health staff and medical staff, and other partners as required. Travel may be a requirement of this position in addition to evening and weekend assignments. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and will require the use of a personal vehicle.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceA level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor\'s degree in a related field such as communications, public relations, journalism or marketing/advertising plus three (3) to five (5) years\' experience in organizational communications including experience in event planning and video storytelling. Valid BC Driver\'s License.Skills And Abilities

  • Graphic design knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of the health care sector
  • Ability to understand and apply technical and medical terminology
  • Physical ability to carry out duties of the position
