Communications Advisor Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 06 Employment type: Temporary Region: Lower Mainland Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid Annual salary: $ 103,900.00 - 131,400.00 What you\'ll do
This is a full-time temporary opportunity for a Vancouver-based communications advisor to work with the Site C Public
Affairs team.

The communications advisor will be involved in construction communications, community relations, local / regional
government relations, stakeholder engagement, consultation, and will provide support for BC Hydro\xe2\x80\x99s community and social
mitigation programs. This is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that provides the chance to work on the biggest project
currently under construction in western Canada.

Duties will include some or all of the below:

  • Provide communications support to the Site C project Construction Communications Program, including attending weekly
construction/contractor meetings and proactively identifying activities that need to be communicated to local residents and
stakeholders.
  • Prepare and implement strategic communications plans for key areas and scopes of work, including reservoir filling and /
or reclamation activities.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of key notification material for the project, such as the biweekly construction bulletins,
information sheets, letters to residents, postcards, and quarterly construction notification letters.
  • Prepare communications material and provide communications support for several Site C programs, including the Site C
Business Participation Program, employment reporting, procurement communications and community relations.
  • Develop briefing notes, issues material, and presentations related to planned project work/activities and issues.
  • Coordinate public meetings. This includes event planning, developing materials, working with graphic design services,
and staffing meetings, where required.
  • Manage the Site C website and social media channels (TBC), including social media monitoring.
  • Develop general communications material for the project team, including writing project updates, news releases,
presentations, website and social media content, briefing notes, public notification materials, and other public
communication materials, as required. What you bring
This position requires a unique combination of personal attributes, skills, education and experience including:

  • A University degree or diploma and relevant experience in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, or other
relevant discipline.
  • Experience with construction communications for infrastructure projects is an asset.
  • Experience working with local, regional or provincial governments is an asset.
  • Experience in media relations and issues management is an asset.
  • Demonstrated skill in building positive relationships and problem solving with a diverse range of stakeholders is an asset.
  • Experience in strategic and tactical planning and managing large projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in writing for public audiences including digital, copywriting, news releases,
messaging, etc. Excellent and demonstrated communications writing skills are essential.
  • Experience managing social media channels and websites using content management systems is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of BC Hydro\xe2\x80\x99s business and the energy industry will be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of six years of specific or related experience.
