Diploma in Communication Studies, Journalism, or Public Relations
Proficient with desktop publishing software including Publisher, Adobe, Canva, Web design
Experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office products including Power Point Marketing or Advertising experience (design/production)
3 years related work experience.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES (Personal Skills and Attributes)
Corporate Communications: Development, production and distribution of publications such as content for CKHA Weekly, develop newsletter for redevelopment, website content development/maintenance for AskCKHA.com
Media Relations: Development of news releases and news conferences; positive relationships between local news media and CKHA management team; respond to media inquiries, initiating or facilitating media interviews, news features and public service announcements, monitor quality and content of media initiatives with respect to Wallaceburg Redevelopment
Social Media: Support the redevelopment with social media presence across all platforms and with a focus to directly engage in a two-way dialogue with the community.
-Engagement: Support the redevelopment community engagement needs either directly (external, broad community or partner agency focused) or indirectly (internal/external department or program specific objectives - often patient/family and provider focused efforts)
Support special events and marketing materials for Wallaceburg redevelopment
Ability to research and write a variety of internal and external communications (news releases, speeches, reports, articles for publication, survey tools).
-Proven experience in newsletter production - from research and writing, to desktop publishing and electronic distribution.
Experience in developing presentation materials (press kits, Power Point presentations, banners, signs, displays).
Knowledge of the print production process.
Experience in leading community engagement and special events
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile department serving diverse internal and external stakeholders.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
Produce content and graphics for internal and external communications
Research, draft and distribute communications
Prepare briefings, speaking notes and presentations for internal and external audiences.
Develop brochures, ads, and promotions to achieve corporate marketing plans.
Graphic design experience for internal and external communications
Support social media graphics and content
Support intranet and web content development.
Plan and implement community engagement events
Support external partners with communications needs
Administrative support to the Communications department (filing, archives, mail, monthly billings)
