The Lycee Francais de Toronto (LFT) is seeking a

Communications & Marketing Manager to cover a maternity leave starting mid-November for approximately 12 months.

LFT educates 520 students from 30 nationalities (Pre-K to Grade 12), offering the French Ministry of Education curriculum through to the French Baccalaureate, with an American International Option. It is part of a global AEFE network of 520+ French schools.

Role & Reporting

Reporting to the Head of School, the Communications & Marketing Manager defines and executes LFT's communications and marketing strategy. The role works closely with the Admissions Manager and Development Officer, and interacts with the entire school community.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

Develop, update, and execute multi-year communication and marketing plans aligned with admissions and development goals.*
Define annual needs with the School Leadership; supervise external providers and production of tools and campaigns.*
Conduct benchmarking, market research, and competitor analysis to refine positioning within Toronto's private school sector.*
Establish measurable indicators, analyze results, and provide recommendations.*
Build and oversee digital communication strategy.*

Operational

Ensure data for marketing evaluation is recorded and available.*
Lead and support admissions-related promotional activities (events, activations, campaigns, media).*
Manage website content, social media presence, newsletters, press releases, promotional materials, and visual assets.*
Produce communication collateral (print, video, digital, signage, branded merchandise).*
Document and preserve communication archives (photos, videos, campaigns).*
Evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust accordingly.*

Event Organization

Oversee major school ceremonies and events (graduations, awards, gala).*
Support faculty and staff in major academic or cultural projects (Francophonie Week, competitions, interdisciplinary projects, trips).*
Provide communication support for Parents' Association events.*

External Partnerships

Maintain relationships with partner networks (French Embassy services, FranceCanadaCulture.org, AEFE, Alliance Francaise).*

Required Profile

Over 3 years of experience in Communications & Marketing, ideally in education or non-profit sectors.*
Excellent written and spoken French

and English.*
Strong writing, public speaking, and interpersonal communication skills.*
Proficiency with CMS, email platforms, social media, and content management tools.*
Skills in photography/editing and publishing software are an asset.*
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management abilities under tight deadlines.*
Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork and alignment across stakeholders.*

Contract Details

Type: Local fixed-term contract (maternity leave replacement) with probationary period.*

Hours: 37.5 hours/week on site; daily schedule varies with activities.*
