Commodity Manager - Sourcing
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for supplier development and cost optimization? We're looking for a highly motivated Commodity Manager - Sourcing to join our dynamic supply chain team. In this role, you will lead sourcing strategies, negotiate supplier agreements, and drive performance improvements across our supply base. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, analytics, and strategic sourcing, this is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on production and aftermarket success in a technically advanced industry.
Responsibilities
Proactively prospect, engage, source, and negotiate with suppliers to support both production and aftermarket sales.
Develop, propose, and lead supply strategies within the assigned commodity or supplier portfolio to drive cost savings and overall value.
Draft, review, enforce, and negotiate contracts and commercial agreements, including product changes and contract amendments.
Identify, analyze, and implement cost optimization opportunities.
Deliver clear, concise, and accurate progress reports in alignment with organizational governance and management systems.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to executive leadership, to meet program and business objectives.
Continuously evaluate supplier performance and competitiveness within the assigned portfolio or commodity.
Monitor market trends and report relevant developments and opportunities to the supply chain team.
Experience & Education
Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in supply chain management.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain or strategic sourcing.
Experience in the aerospace industry and/or manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
Familiarity with development programs and project/program management is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to understand legal terminology and draft/review contracts.
Effective presentation skills, capable of managing details and providing executive-level summaries of complex situations.
Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong financial acumen and proficiency in MS Excel for cost and price analysis.
Results-oriented team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with ERP systems.
Comfortable operating in a highly technical environment.
APICS certification is an asset.
