Commissioning EIT

The Commissioning Team is seeking a Commissioning EIT with an interest in mining, metals, energy and/or infrastructure projects in the Western Canada Region. Reporting to the Regional Manager of Commissioning the Commissioning EIT will work from project office and project site, will support in commissioning proposals, planning, as well as on-site execution of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and ramp-up of projects.

Reports to:
Regional Manager, Commissioning
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Support commissioning planning and setup activities including test plans and administrative procedures.
  • Support in technical testing, data collection, and troubleshooting during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phase of the project.
  • Lead technology development initiatives in the group including investigating of alternate and supporting commissioning software.
  • Lead setup and implementation of the commissioning management system and become a support resource for global projects on the corresponding software(s).
  • Manage the test results, data collection, progress measurement and documentation of results.
  • Support development of commissioning estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, commissioning proposals and presentations

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical, Process, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Mining Engineering.
  • Knowledge in pre-commissioning, commissioning or operations.
  • Willingness for on-site deployment.
  • Effective technical writing skills, planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous co-op experience in project execution, commissioning, or construction on industrial project is considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.
  • Good understanding of design engineering codes, technical standards and site requirements.
  • Aspirations of becoming a commissioning manager, project manager or group lead are considered an asset.
