Your role

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Lines, Atlantic, you will support the Commercial Underwriting team.

What you bring to the position

1-2 years of P&C insurance industry experience or equivalent

Keen interest in developing a career in underwriting

Ability to work independently

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills,

Ability to action requests quickly and prioritize competing tasks.

Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite programs

Familiarity with Guidewire an asset

Bilingual an asset (French/English)

What you will do

Triage centralized inboxes

Daily entry of new business and assignment to Underwriters

Process new business policies, renewals and endorsements

Assist with requests for applications

Assist with maintaining renewal timelines

Collect information for underwriters

Update information in Guidewire

Respond to general inquiries

Broker follow-ups (managing Abeyances)

Review and track new business submissions

Build strong working relationships with brokers

Maintain high levels of service both internally and with brokers

Ad hoc duties as assigned.
