Vimar Equipment is seeking a

Commercial Transport Technician or Heavy Duty Mechanic

to join our expanding Burnaby team. In this hands?on role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain municipal vehicles--including street sweepers, vacuum trucks, hydro?excavators, and related equipment--with a strong emphasis on diagnosing electrical systems.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (onsite)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide diagnostics and technical support over the phone and in the field. Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems; prioritize electrical system diagnostics. Fabricate and weld components as needed and conduct preventative and general maintenance. Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications and legal standards. Keep tools, equipment, vehicles, and inventory organized, clean, and well?maintained. Interpret and follow work orders and technical manuals. Complete service reports and required documentation. Stay up to date on products and systems through ongoing training. Support Vimar's environmental, safety, and security policies.

Qualifications:

Licensed Heavy?Duty Technician; possessing a Commercial Transportation ticket is an asset. 8-10 years of experience servicing heavy?duty equipment is required. Extensive mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical expertise--experience with multiplexed systems is a distinct advantage. Canadian Vehicle Inspection Program and forklift licenses (or ability to obtain them) are assets. Valid Class?5 Driver's License with a clean abstract. Basic computer skills. Able to lift 75?lbs. repeatedly. Excellent spoken and written English.
