We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and safety-focused Licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic to play a key role in maintaining our diverse fleet. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for performing inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep our buses safe, clean, and tour-ready. Since we transport passengers rather than freight, this role is critical to ensuring guest safety, comfort, and satisfaction.
YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDE
As a Licensed Mechanic, you'll be keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and in top condition. Your responsibilities will include:
Performing preventative maintenance inspections
Diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing mechanical systems, including brakes, suspensions, steering, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, and driveline components
Conducting welding, body repairs, panel fabrication, glass fitting, and certified air conditioning work
Servicing air brake systems and other essential safety components
Inspecting and testing engines, transmissions, axles, and other components to locate faults and prevent breakdowns
Completing work orders, DVIRs, and inspection reports accurately and on time
Ensuring buses are maintained to the highest safety, cleanliness, and presentation standards
Driving service trucks or buses when needed for road calls
Keeping your workspace organized, safe, and compliant with company procedures
Remaining on foot for continuous periods of time without being able to leave the work area
Requires lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling up to 20 lbs
If experience is with Heavy Truck, then ability to do kingpins, brakes suspensions, hubs and steering
WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU
Red Seal Certification (Heavy Duty Mechanic of equivalent)
2+ years of relevant Diesel, Heavy Truck, or Bus Mechanic experience
Legally able to work in Canada
You have your own tools
Must have Class 5 Drivers Licence
Class 1, 2, or 3 commercial drivers license with air brake endorsement - an asset
Having Inspectors' ticket is an asset
Punctual, reliable, and committed to doing quality work
Goal-oriented and focused on safety
Flexible schedule with availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to see issues from the guests' perspective, ensuring a great experience for everyone
Strong communication skills
Can work independently and within a team
Maintain and adhere to all commercial vehicle safety standards as stipulated by the province of British Columbia and company policies and procedures
