This key sales position focuses on activities related to the profitable attraction, maintenance and coaching of the largest and most complex portfolio of commercial Members. The
Commercial Specialist
provides a high level of expertise in commercial knowledge (general industry, real estate, and manufacturing) supportive of Libro's targeted growth segments. The Commercial Specialist is accountable for the overall management of a small number of accounts but significant portfolio size of commercial accounts that exhibit the highest degree of complexity and value to Libro Credit Union.
The Role:
The Commercial Specialist will grow the size and profitability of the business book through good risk management techniques and by soliciting and maintaining solid new business relationships.
Meets financial objectives related to the profitable growth and retention of assigned portfolio is critical to success.
Supports effective sales management practices as part of the local community, regional and corporate teams.
Asks for business and Ask for Referrals, Member relationship activities, cross-selling, up-selling, and retention of existing business Members and on qualifying and converting new Members and prospects and deposit gathering.
Works with other community and regional sales teams to ensure all opportunities are identified to ensure a full financial relationship with Members.
Maintains an ongoing sales pipeline.
Monitors risk areas including both deposit and loans.
Partners with Credit Analyst team to proactively manage high-risk loans, developing risk issues and changing credit needs to restructure deals, remediate risks and minimize loss.
Minimizes loan risks through diligent, timely and proactive financial reviews and awareness of changing economic influences and applicable industry trends.
Works collaboratively with peers and colleagues by sharing best practices and learnings, where appropriate.
What We're Looking For:
Requires a university degree with related courses in the area of business finance. Work experience of 10 - 15 years. A minimum of 5-7 years of commercial experience within a financial institution.
Demonstrated ability to understand business concepts including the analysis of financial statements and complex accounts.
Demonstrated success being proactive in a sales environment, building strong relationships and results.
A passion for helping people grow their financial well-being.
