ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Client are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Commercial Mortgage Underwriter to join their collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have an affinity for numbers, excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail with an interest in Mortgage Underwriting as a career.

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Actively work on marketing and business leads for the managing director
• Gather information required to submit applications for internal lending opportunities
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and review commercial real estate projects and
• properties for mortgage loan underwriting
• Prepare detailed loan summaries for third party lenders
• Carry out research and data compilation for report preparation and presentation
• Analyze property reports, market data, financial statements and project pro-forma
• Accurately and efficiently budget, forecast and underwrite projects
• Ensure all documentation is completed and correct
• Monitor loans and ensure adherence to post-funding collection and procedures
• Work with borrower clients and third party lenders

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years' work experience in a similar underwriter capacity
• Strong familiarity with practices and procedures in the commercial real estate
• Accounting / finance background with CFA/CA would be considered an asset
• Strong analytical skills and attention to details
• Excellent proficiency with MS Office, in particular Excel
• Must have strong organizational and time management skill
• Strong ability to handle multiple priorities and make quick decisions
• Motivated, self-starter focused on delivering quality work and a collaborative attitude
• Strong and professional communication and writing skills
