Commercial Litigation Lawyer
Job Description
About the rolePace Law is seeking an experienced commercial litigator to handle active and incoming matters on a contract basis. You'll run files with autonomy, collaborate with our team as needed, and step into hearings and trials with confidence.
What you'll doManage commercial litigation files from pleadings through appeal, as needed
Draft and argue motions; conduct discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials
Prepare concise, persuasive written materials (facta, briefs, affidavits)
Advise clients on risk, strategy, settlement, and costs
Coordinate with clerks/junior counsel for efficient file execution
What you bringCalled to the Ontario Bar 5+ years and in good standing with the LSO
Proven trial experience in the Superior Court (must-have)
Strong advocacy, drafting, and file-management skills
Ability to work independently on a contract/remote-hybrid basis
Business sense and clear client communication
LawPRO coverage as applicable
Nice to haveExperience with Filevine or similar practice tools
Appeals experience
Contract; flexible hours based on file needs
