We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the legal issues arising under technology contracts. The candidate should be highly organized with strong negotiation, drafting and communication skills.What Youll Be Doing

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer contracts and provide timely and accurate legal advice.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and contracts for customers and vendors, including master supply agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, reseller agreements, and trial agreements.
• Advise on a wide variety of legal risks including those related to commercial issues, privacy/data security, and intellectual property law. Propose pragmatic and creative solutions to mitigate such risks.
• Develop and maintain standard template agreements, policies, and procedures that are consistent with applicable laws and best practices.
• Work closely with the other members of the Legal Team and cross-functional teams across Solace to identify needs, counsel internal clients, and support Solaces growing business.
• Represent the needs and concerns of Solace when interacting with customers, vendors, and partners.
• Review and proactively identify legal trends and risks as part of the changing regulatory environment.
• Assist the Legal Team with efficiency initiatives.

Who You AreWe're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited Canadian law school.
• Active membership in the Law Society of Ontario.
• 4-7 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
• Broad commercial experience. Extensive background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, terms and conditions, and other similar contracts is a must-have.
• Familiarity with technology/software, license agreements, data privacy and security, and intellectual property matters.
• Ability to work on the customer and vendor side of transactions.
• Ability to write and communicate complex concepts in a simple manner.
• Solution oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
• Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
• Have the ability, agility and passion to operate in a global context.
