Job Summary:
As a
Commercial Glazer
, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in various commercial settings, including office buildings, storefronts, and other structures. You will work closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Duties
Install, replace, and repair glass fixtures in commercial buildings, ensuring accuracy and quality
Measure and cut glass to precise specifications.
Work with a variety of glass types, including tempered, laminated, and insulated glass.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
Prepare surfaces for glass installation, including cleaning and sealing as necessary.
Operate tools and machinery safely, including glass cutters, power tools, and hoisting equipment.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and client specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and practices.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.
Requirements
Proven experience as a commercial glazer or in a similar role.
Knowledge of glass types, installation techniques, and safety protocols.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications.
Proficiency with hand and power tools used in glazing.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Physical stamina and strength, with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a glazing apprenticeship or relevant training program.
Certifications in glazing or safety training (OSHA, etc.) are a plus.
