We are currently seeking a Commercial Credit Process Manager to join our team.

The Commercial Credit Process Manager is responsible for the end-to-end commercial lending process. Responsibilities include: ensuring credit union commercial policies and procedures are accurately and consistently applied through the organization; researching, recommending and implementing commercial lending guidelines, processes, and procedures for the credit union working in unison with the Corporate Credit Office team; regular testing, monitoring and updates to the auto approval commercial lending scorecards, managing the monitoring quality control and minimizing risk to the credit union; and preparing the essential credit monitoring reports. This role collaborates with the Corporate Credit Office team to provide critical support for strategic initiatives as required.

Here\'s what would be included as a part of your typical day * Leadership: Provides coaching and guidance to commercial advisors in the areas of commercial lending and portfolio compliance.

  • Credit Process: Provides oversight and works with the regions to improve quality of lending practices. Provide leadership in developing new and/or improved management reports, forms, applications, schedules or other information systems related to the Credit division.
  • Risk Management: Provides oversight for the commercial lending team by monitoring lending activities and ensuring that quality controls, risk mitigation practices; and policies and procedures are in place and are being applied consistently and effectively. Recommends corrective action on any concerns or issues related to administration, adherence to guidelines or prudent lending practices. When necessary, provides credit adjudication.
  • Member Experience: Actively seeks opportunities to improve all lending products, services and processes for our members by liaising and working collaboratively with various departments including: Retail and Commercial Banking, IT, Business Solutions, Marketing and Member Experience in the evaluation and development of loan products, systems, and processes.
  • Divisional Support: Develops strong relationships with Credit Offices and liaises with the various business units as required. Ensures a cohesive, effective member experience is delivered across First West.
  • Strategic Projects: Participates in strategic projects and initiatives. Collaborates with and supports other credit functional areas to ensure alignment and consistency of service delivery across the various departments.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in a related discipline required or an equivalent combination of education & experience
  • 6 years\' related experience with 2-3 years in a Commercial Credit role required e.g. Commercial Banking Advisor or Corporate Credit Office
  • Foundational lending experience and credit risk management preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of credit structuring, security requirements and lending policy, guidelines and practices is a critical requirement for this position is an asset
  • Previous experience in a supervisor or management capacity preferred
  • Key leadership capabilities including change resiliency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people
  • Proficient with computer software applications e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Superior knowledge of MS Excel
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
