Job Description


We are looking for a skilled and motivated Collections Specialist to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely payments from a diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a growing software company that develops innovative platforms for investors.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor accounts receivable to ensure payments are collected within agreed timeframes.
  • Communicate with clients of varying sizes to address outstanding invoices and negotiate payment plans when necessary.
  • Utilize NetSuite to pull client portfolios, analyze invoicing data, and track overdue payments.
  • Document client interactions and payment updates accurately in Salesforce.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to clarify payment applications and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze and process invoices, including those with multiple items and varying due dates.
  • Prepare reports and summaries using Excel, leveraging tools like pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUPs.
  • Handle challenging conversations with professionalism and persistence to achieve resolution.
  • Participate in onboarding and training sessions to gain a comprehensive understanding of company processes and tools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable roles.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite is required; experience with Salesforce is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex billing and collection processes.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUPs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to handle difficult conversations tactfully.
  • High level of motivation and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with accounting software systems and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail when dealing with high-value invoices.
