ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Collections Recovery Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, management and recoveries of charged off debt. This role will perform skip tracing, negotiate settlements/payment arrangements, prepares legal and third-party assignments, and monitor enforcement actions.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Manages up to 150 client account files.
Assigns accounts to legal and third-party collections and reports on recovery progress.
Identifies and makes recommendations if a change in recovery strategy is required.
Negotiates with customers and identifies settlement options to avoid legal proceedings.
Maintains accounts, database, and presents settlements for approval.
Investigations, locating debtors whereabouts utilizing resources such as social media, Credit Bureau Reports, Canada 411.
Skip Trace actions to gather information for enforcement.
Collaborates with multiple departments.
THE REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience in a similar role.
2 years of skip tracing experience.
Knowledge of the insolvency process and experience filing Proof of Claims is desired.
Strong communication skills.
Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
Excellent MS office skills and knowledge of a variety of social media platforms.
The ability to decipher credit bureau reports.
Must be able to pass criminal and credit background check.
COMPENSATION
Annual salary up to $65,000 depending on experience. Generous vacation, comprehensive benefits, RSP matching and bonus.
