Apex Aluminum is a state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion factory located in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. With a 170,000 square foot aluminum extrusion facility and some of the most modern equipment in its industry, Apex can offer custom extrusions, mill finish aluminum and anodized aluminum to satisfy the most demanding customer and all architectural needs.



As a Cold Saw Machine Operator, your key objective is to ensure that the Extrusion Press and Auxiliary equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner to achieve and meet the strategic production outcomes. This position reports to the Extrusion Press Supervisor and has the following assigned general duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Understanding, following, and practicing all safe work procedures. Ensuring the order being processed is the order on the computer screen. Checking and following all special instructions attached to the order. Performing and recording all required quality checks. Maintaining a clean work area. Taking samples with the proper information for CERTS. Getting samples for scanning and do ascona scans as needed. Ensuring proper extrusion practices are adhered to. Marking front ends and samples as required. Completing all required documentation neatly and accurately. Ensuring process and quality problems are immediately reported to the Supervisor. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with changing conditions. Performing repetitive tasks. 1 year experience in aluminum or other metal industry is considered an asset. Previous experience with any machine operations warehouse experience is considered an asset. Good understanding of written and verbal directions. Able to use Vernier and Squares. Ability to read and interpret Die drawings. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Fundamental computer skills. Possess good math skills. Mechanical aptitude. Able to work well with others in a team environment. Good knowledge of safety, quality, and productivity within a manufacturing environment.
