Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process. This role includes setting up machines, monitoring production, performing quality checks, and ensuring that products meet specifications. The Machine Operator supports production flow, contributes to cross-functional teamwork, and upholds high standards for safety, efficiency, and product quality.

CNC programming experience is an asset.





Reports to: Production Supervisor, Edmonton



What You'll Be Doing:


Load raw materials onto the equipment manually or with lifting equipment for larger sheet goods, ensuring proper handling procedures and safe lifting procedures are followed. Utilize machine software (Edge bander, Beam saw etc.) with expertise, demonstrating expert level understanding of advanced computer functions and system navigation. Maintain a clear understanding of the door and laminated panels manufacturing process and ensure workflow remains organized and clearly identified. Apply training to safely and effectively operate assigned machinery, including performing basic program adjustments as required. Participate in cross-training initiatives to develop competency on additional equipment within the department. Follow all health and safety regulations, including reporting hazards, near misses or incidents immediately.




What You Bring:


A minimum of 2 years' experience in cabinetry/ door manufacturing machine operation is required. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required. Ability to interpret technical drawings and information. Ability to multi-task, monitoring several machine components during operation. High level of concentration, attention for detail and quality control Basic math skills - unit conversions, arithmetic operations, ratios and percentages Efficient machine operation with mechanical aptitude Advanced measuring skills in imperial and metric. Basic computer skills - Navigating Windows, Microsoft Office and Email Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly. Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve and add value to the organization.
