OverviewWe are looking for a Code Methods Analyst to lead projects and initiatives in the evaluation and implementation of methodologies, to deliver trustworthy coding data efficiently and systematically to support business and policy decisions. Reporting to the Manager, Data Coding Services, the Code Methods Analyst provides advice and expertise in data coding methodologies to the organization.In this role, youxe2x80x99ll collaborate with subject matter teams, and provide expertise and oversight on aspects related to taxonomy design and data collection for data coding, and quality assessment and delivery of coding data-related analytics.   • Collaborate with business areas to develop and influence data coding strategy by providing subject matter expertise in data coding methodologies, assessing industry trends, and emerging technologies, identifying risks and opportunities of coding projects, and evaluating resources and priorities.
  • Develop, validate, and promote new and existing data coding methodologies, including both human and machine approaches.
  • Develop, coordinate, review, and implement data coding processes to achieve specific business or project goals
  • Develop, validate, and promote new and existing taxonomies for data coding.
  • Assess new taxonomies, champion changes in taxonomies, and develop concordances to ensure continuity of coding data between old and new taxonomies.
  • Collaborate with AWCBC and other jurisdictions to improve the national injury coding framework.
  • Track updates in published taxonomies such as National Occupational Classification (NOC) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and assess their implications on business areas and recommend actions.

  • Leverages different types of data, including text, scanned document, image, audio, and video as data sources for data coding.
  • Collaborates with other Analytics and Data Services teams (such as Data Scientists and Data Architects) to provide oversight in strengthening and expanding data sources and data science techniques including machine learning for data coding.
  • Provides oversight and coaching to trainers in the Data Coding Services (DCS) Team and client areas on newly established coding processes and taxonomies.
  • Produces and presents coding data-related analytics to a diverse audience to meet specific business or project goals, including balanced accounts with insights to support decisions.
  • Develops and champions data coding quality guidelines and frameworks including metrics for reporting.
  • Maintains currency in data coding methodological developments and relevant technologies, including conducting research in data coding methodologies, data coding processes, and taxonomies.
  • Develops and promotes guidelines on ethics related to data coding; Champions and models adherence to all regulatory requirements and protocols on data coding including securing approval and consent from all relevant parties where needed for coding projects.
Your background and experience
  • 4-year undergraduate degree program in a discipline related to science, statistics, data management, logic, or research
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience (real-time) of data coding experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
