Position Overview
We are seeking a CNC Setup/Designer to support our parts shop. The ideal candidate will be comfortable setting up CNC machines, creating and adjusting programs, and contributing to part design and process improvement. While prior CNC setup or programming experience is an asset, we are open to training a mechanically inclined candidate with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Set up CNC machines for production runs, including tooling and work holding.
Create, adjust, and optimize CNC programs for part manufacturing.
Collaborate with the team to design and modify parts and tooling solutions.
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and specifications.
Verify accuracy of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
Maintain CNC equipment and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications
Experience with CNC setup and programming (Haas, Fanuc, or similar controls) is an asset but not required.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360) is an asset.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.
Willingness to learn advanced CNC setup and design practices through on-the-job training.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small-team environment.
