will be responsible for operating MAZAK CNC lathe machines in accordance with established programs and procedures. The role focuses on safe machine operation, monitoring production, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining quality and productivity standards while working closely with machinists and quality inspectors.

Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate
MAZAK CNC lathe machines
using existing, approved programs
Load and unload workpieces safely and accurately into the lathe
Verify correct setup parameters such as tooling, offsets, and work holding prior to production runs
Monitor machining operations to ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements
Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
Read and follow engineering drawings, specifications, and traveler documents
Make minor offset adjustments as required to maintain part quality (per procedure)
Monitor tool wear and report tooling or machining issues to lead hands or supervisors
Ensure continuous production to meet daily output and cycle-time targets
Identify and report machine alarms, defects, or abnormal operating conditions
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards
Support quality and safety initiatives by following standard operating procedures
Assist with basic preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication checks, and chip removal
Communicate effectively with machinists, supervisors, and quality inspectors regarding production status or issues
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
5 years minimum of experience
operating CNC lathe MAZAK machines

Basic understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, and offsets
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify machining or equipment issues
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Ability to follow established programs and procedures without modification
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Self-motivated with the ability to meet productivity and production targets
Experience working with carbide tooling is an asset
Familiarity with oil and gas threads is an asset
Ability to lift materials up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
