We are a custom furniture manufacturer and have been manufacturing high end store fixture, executive and feature furniture since 1967
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Operator/ programmer to join our production team and help maintain our commitment to excellence. The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machinery to produce components with precision and efficiency. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting production drawings, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Duties
Set up and operate Homag 5 axis CNC machinery
Program the CNC using CAD/CAM cam software in particular Alphcam
Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
Perform basic machine maintenance and tooling changes to minimize downtime.
Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Collaborate with production team members to meet daily and weekly production goals.
Reading and interpreting production drawings and design models.
Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.
Adjusting machine settings to the desired product specifications.
Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
Machine cutting paths or settings are optimized while the product quality is maintained.
Checking programs on first off and mock-ups.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience operating CNC millwork machinery, preferably Homag
Must know CAD/Cam software - ideally Aphacam
High school diploma or vocational equivalent
Previous experience operating CNC machines is an asset
Working knowledge of production processes using a variety of wood materials
Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
Understanding different tools, feed and speed, for various materials
