Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The CNC Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production operations.

Duties



Set up machining equipment utilized by the organization to ensure equipment operations are at accepted standards for the type of tooling used. Study and interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, tools to be used, materials for the job and setup requirements. Verify machined parts using precision measuring instruments. Ensure workpiece dimensions are correct and establish tolerance criteria. Measure, examine and test completed parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to specifications and blueprints. Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment. Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with provincial and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations. Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work piece.

Qualifications



Minimum 5 years' experience setting up 5 Axis CNC milling machines in a production based manufacturing environment. Must have experience with Matsuura 4/5 axis CNC milling centers with Fanuc controls, or DMG 4 axis Horizontal CNC milling centers with DMG Fanuc controls, or DMG 5 axis milling centers with Heidenheim controls Advanced knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not be limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometres, depth gages, indicators and scales. Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing for demands and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra to calculate material fabrication. Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
