We are currently looking for a
full-time CNC Machinist (Level 2)
to join our Edmonton-based Manufacturing team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manufacture precision parts to specification, using a variety of materials including elastomers and plastics.
Interpret engineered drawings and tolerances, including GD&T.
Set up and operate CNC turning centers, including tool loading, offset adjustment (geometry, wear, work), turret indexing, and MDI input.
Perform manual machining operations, such as turning, boring, drilling, and material preparation using bandsaws and manual lathes.
Program CNC machines based on product requirements, including standard and non-standard profiles using DMH software.
Use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators) for in-process and final inspections.
G and M codes, T and F codes
Rapid, linear, and circular motion types
Compensation types (wear, geometry, workshift, tool nose radius)
Block delete, M01 (optional stop), M00 (program stop)
Utilize E2 Shop System for job tracking and shop floor data entry.
Execute safe and efficient machine setup for first-off operations and insert/tool changes.
Trim and split seals according to specifications.
Perform routine machine maintenance and uphold housekeeping standards.
Other Duties:
Participate in safety programs including hazard assessments, incident investigations, and training.
Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Other tasks as assigned to support production goals.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and characteristics:
Grade 12 diploma and/or Machinist Certificate; ideally a registered 2nd year apprentice.
Machining Experience
Experience with measuring instruments
Familiar with DMH software & HAAS controls
Familiarity with Manual, NC, and CNC lathes (Haas)
Knowledge of industry seals.
Efficient with all types of measuring instruments.
Advanced mathematical skills.
