Job Description

As a CNC Machinist you would be required to:

Read and interpret engineering drawing, blueprints, charts and tables; Compute dimensions and tolerances, measure and lay out work pieces. Perform accurate work-in-process dimensional or surface verification to specification; Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments; (e.g. micrometers, calipers) to check straight cuts, shapes, threads, holes, tapers, hardness, and surfaces; deburring work pieces; and performing in-process inspections; Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the tool-path for CNC machine tools, including G-codes or others, as required; Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations, including drilling, milling, grinding, turning, boring; Set up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, e.g. boring machines, milling machines, sawing machines and/or drilling machines, as required; Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery; Clean and maintain work space; Preparation of drawings for new parts and modification of old drawing for subsequent machining, use of formulas to calculate measurement uncertainty;

Experienced in Heidenhain or Siemens controls

Use different verification equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, sizing blocks and/or gauges; Calculate measurement uncertainty, calibrate measuring instruments for correct verification, utilize knowledge of influence quantities and error propagation; Comply with current AS9100 standards; Know and apply standards related to technical drawing and systems of standardized views; Please note that the duties and responsibilities outlined are not exhaustive and that you may be expected to perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities, should the need arise. Report directly to production supervisor, or as assigned.

Required work experience:



Minimum three to four (3-4) years of experience as a CNC operator/machinist

Knowledge of 5 axis CNC machining, tooling and operation of CNC machine controls

Ability to read manufacturing drawings and use calibrated instruments

Ability to use probing systems

Ability to control and maintain sizing using but not limited to - bore gages, micrometer, inside micrometer, etc.

Technical Competencies:



3-4 years experience of 5 Axis machining parts

3 - 4 years of experience in machine operation including drilling, milling, grinding, turning, and boring;

Experience with Heidenhain or Siemens controls

Knowledge of AS9100 standards Proven ability to read / interpret blueprints Proven experience using mechanical inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height and thickness gauges Proven understanding of CNC M and G-codes Aerospace experience is a benefit
