1- Job Related Duties & Responsibilities
Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard
Maintain and fill out in-process inspection sheets for every job.
Maintain and fill out first off tooling and fixture checklists for every job.
Deburr first off and production parts where possible.
Demonstrate ability to set-up, run, and dimensionally maintain quality in a production environment
Ability to recognize production problems such as out-of-tolerance Machining, poor finishes, and are able to correct them.
Able to gather/select, load, and measure correct tools, and holders for the job.
Skilled in the use of measuring tools and equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, thread gauges, and plug gauges, and optical comparator).
Ability to set up, operate, calibrate and maintain machines and tools.
Ability to recognize and address problems in the production process.
Ability to troubleshoot and adjust in machine control to bring parts back to tolerance without the help of a lead hand.
Ability to set up measuring tools.
Ability to set up boring bars, and bore gauges.
Ability to line up fixtures or parts with either a flat or pins, using an indicator.
Ability to indicate bores, bosses and pins using an indicator.
Ability to check tool run out.
Knowledge on selecting the right holders for the right tools.
Able to operate oven for stress relief
Versatility across multiple machine centres is a plus
Meets job standard times with minimal supervision.
Maintains a production efficiency of 85% or higher
Maintains a First Pass Acceptance rate of 80% or higher on repeat jobs
Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.
Follow applicable work instructions and maintain appropriate records.
2- Training, Experience, Education and Skill Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Degree or diploma from College or vocational school in CNC machining is strongly desired and most preferred.
10 years' experience running a CNC mill or 5 years as Intermediate.
Proven ability to consistently run good parts that exceeds production standards.
Strong skills and aptitude in math.
Ability to perform basic functions with MS Windows-based computer operating systems.
Completion of Machine Proficiency test during interview process.
Highly organized with a keen eye for details.
Able to self-organize and follow instructions independently.
Able to read and interpret part drawings, specifications and requirements.
Able to read, speak, write and understand English.
Superior Inspection Skills and Blueprint reading skills with ability to use all shop inspection tools.
Advanced Troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work with small pieces (Hand dexterity).
Manual dexterity and sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and crouching.
Lifting and/or exerting of force up to 50 pounds frequently and team lifting heavier items.
Positive attitude and reliable.
Properly uses measuring tools and set up tools such as edge finder, indicator, micrometers, etc.
