This includes direct contact with CMHC underwriters and application of the Certificate of Insurance on behalf of ATB. You will be part of the ATB Commercial Real Estate Team and will be supporting directors and relationship managers with their CMHC book of business. Success in this role requires a firm grasp of the CMHC\xe2\x80\x99s insurance products, particularly the MLI Select Program, and strong financial analysis skills.Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with relationship managers and directors to overseeCMHC insured loan origination, including the Certificate of Insurance and the application for credit.
  • Completion of CMHC annual reviews, amendments, and new money requests.
  • Perform complex financial statement analysis to calculate financial covenants and borrowing limits.
  • Assess risk and independently determine appropriate financial structures.
  • Analyze complex credit applications, identifying potential risks and mitigating factors.
  • Interpret and apply complex underwriting guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements within the context of CMHC-insured lending
  • Review draw requests, assist with loan funding and administration in accordance with CMHC Approved Lender handbook and ATB\xe2\x80\x99s internal policies.
  • Submit pricing approval requests to appropriate decision level authority, fee collection etc.
  • Proactively manage risk through continuous account monitoring to identify and act upon any deterioration of account or portfolio risk. This includes ongoing monitoring of industry reports as well as interim and year-end financial information/statements.
  • Assist the Sales Teams with improving efficiencies and profitability of the business unit.
  • Form and maintain relationships with ATB\xe2\x80\x99s contacts at CMHC
Skills, experience & requirements
  • Preference for degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent with 3-6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with CMHC products, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience in conventional real estate construction financing and term out loans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn
  • Proven ability to produce effective results both independently with minimal supervision, and in a team setting.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a proven record of success who wants to be part of a team dedicated to growth and to continuous improvement.
  • An MBA, CFA or CPA designation completed or in progress is an asset
