Position: Cloud Operations Developer

Location: Lake Forest, California \xe2\x80\x93 Hybrid (~40% office, ~60% remote)

About the Role:

As part of the Research and Development function, the global Cloud DevOps team combines software development and cloud operations to provide continuous integration and delivery of cloud-enabled products and solutions. Responsible for deployment and continuous monitoring to ensure various cloud-specific customer requirements/SLAs are met.

The Job

As a Cloud Operations Developer you will utilize your experience to continually improve and develop AVEVA\xe2\x80\x99s Cloud solutions, including release and deployment processes and pipelines, enhancing and supporting our security and monitoring capabilities, and diagnosing and resolving cloud infrastructure incidents to optimize uptime and allow us to scale through repeatable and standardized work practices.

Working closely with your development and portfolio colleagues, together you will bring new solutions to the cloud following a standard framework to ensure they are operationally secure, stable and scalable.

The global, 24x7 nature of the team means there may be a requirement for occasional work outside of the standard day and to be on call as part of a shared team rota.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Provide timely and effective response to incidents to minimize the impact on our customers and keep colleagues updated as required.

\xc2\xb7 Work with development teams to advise and contribute to improvements to operational stability, security, cost management and reporting requirements for our cloud solutions.

\xc2\xb7 Continually develop and improve DevOps processes, adding value through optimization, automation and effective reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Oversee relevant Cloud deployments to ensure successful implementation, track and report progress, resolve or escalate release issues.

\xc2\xb7 Proactively manage cloud environments to minimize service impacting issues, including infrastructure as code, certificates, storage, health status, backup status etc.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure new services meet required operational readiness standards before being accepted into operations.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure on-going compliance to security practices and policies.

\xc2\xb7 Provide subject matter expertise to business stakeholders as required.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain clear and accurate operational documentation.

\xc2\xb7 Stay current on security industry trends, tools and best practices.

Desired Experience:

The following list applies to Azure and/or AWS Platforms.

\xc2\xb7 Hands-on in Azure administration, Azure APIs and tools or equivalent AWS experience.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge and experience of operational support, software development and deployment methodologies and principles.

\xc2\xb7 Development experience with exposure to programming skills, e.g. C#, .NET.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of PowerShell or Node JS scripting.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of API, REST, microservices and serverless architectures.

\xc2\xb7 Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, able to convey information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent analysis and dissemination skills.

\xc2\xb7 Maintains and develops relevant industry and technology knowledge.

Great Skills to have:

\xc2\xb7 Certifications in Azure and/or AWS.

\xc2\xb7 Hands-on experience working within an Information Security accredited framework e.g. ISO27001, 27017/18.

\xc2\xb7 Experience working in Agile software development such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
