Reporting to IT Cloud and Infrastructure Team Lead, the Cloud and Infrastructure Designer is responsible for ensuring core infrastructure services (Server/Hypervisor/Cloud/Storage/Data Base) are designed & implemented appropriately into ENMAX\xe2\x80\x99s Hybrid Could (Public, Private, On-Premises) infrastructure.
The successful candidate will ensure collaboration with other teams to allow provisioning of infrastructure components in a timely manner, you will also ensure new services align to and enhance technology roadmaps.
Major Responsibilities:
Become well-versed in and able to support multiple provisioning models including IT-Delivered and Self-Provisioning
Serve as a single point of contact for all Cloud/infrastructure-related questions and issues
Support multiple deployment models including manual, scripted, DevOps, CI/CD/Infrastructure as a Code methodology
Participate in the design of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions working alongside Cloud Architects and service domains (e.g., Web, Database, Storage, Networking, IAM) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are represented
Ensure that the technical artifacts required to implement infrastructure solutions are developed, reviewed and approved
Work with Cyber Security team ensuring that the proposed infrastructure solution complies with ENMAX\xe2\x80\x99s Cloud/Infrastructure Security Guidelines and that all Azure Services utilized adhere to the Security standards established for each service
Initiate demand requests to implement all aspects of the infrastructure Projects and Continuous Service Improvements (CSI)
Where possible, validate that the infrastructure solution matches the approved design by the Architecture team
Manage all Transition to Operations (TTO) activities related to cloud, Infrastructure, Storage and Identity Access Management
Education Required:
University degree in Computer Science or related Diploma combined with 10+ years of experience related to Infrastructure implementation and managing small to medium teams.
A combination of relevant work experience and education may be considered.
Qualifications & Experience:
10+ years of experience in the IT Infrastructure operations
7+ years of direct experience with cloud design and implementation for mid-market to enterprise sized network environments
In-depth understanding of core Infrastructure technologies and best practices
Knowledge and hands-on experience with the following products or solution categories,
Storage and Backup \xe2\x80\x93 NetApp, Cohesity
Data Center Management
Cloud \xe2\x80\x93 IaaS, PaaS
Server Management & Virtualization \xe2\x80\x93 VMware, Nutanix
Database Services \xe2\x80\x93 SQL, Oracle
Office 365 and MS Teams
Citrix
Automation and Orchestration
Infrastructure analytics and system management
Solid understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery, including practical implementation
The ability to assess the potential of new technology and services
The ability to develop formal procedures, standards and documentation as it related to infrastructure design
Strong communication and presentation skills at both executive and technical levels
Senior experience with project delivery including scoping and execution
Competencies:
Positive approach, works well with others and demonstrated ability to resolve escalations
Contribute to performance management processes and personal development to ensure right skillsets are maintained within the team
Must be able to effectively communicate and manage business expectations and concerns across all levels of an organization

Salary: Technical Services Analyst, Level C (CUPE 2024 rates)
$103,911.44 - $110,418.31 - $116,905.33 - $123,412.20 - $129,899.22

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
