Must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings (guaranteed shifts), and remain available other days of the week to cover shifts as needed. This is a part-time role with 12 guaranteed hours per week (extra shifts may be offered if other team members are unavailable, but additional hours are not guaranteed).

What You'll Do
As a Closing Barista, you will ensure the cafe operates smoothly during the evening shift. Your responsibilities include delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and completing all closing procedures to prepare the cafe for the next day.
Role Responsibilities
1. Guest Services:
Greet every guest warmly and provide recommendations on seasonal programs and featured products.
Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring quality and accuracy.
Offer personalized touches, such as warming baked goods or serving food on ceramic dishes for dine-in guests.
Update guests on their order status and thank them for their patronage.
2. Cafe Operations:
Clock in using 7Shift at 2:30 PM.
3 Hours to Close (Start of Closing Shift):
Begin transitioning into the slower-paced evening atmosphere.
Keep drink and food displays tidy and stocked.
Monitor and restock front items (e.g., pastries, soups, paninis).
Start light cleaning (wiping counters, clearing dishes).
Maintain guest service quality while prepping for close.
1.25 Hours to Close:
Begin back-of-house cleanup:
Wash and put away dishes.
Prep dishwasher area and sanitize sink.
Empty and rinse pitchers, blenders, and equipment no longer needed.
Tidy and organize product storage (fridges, freezer, dry storage).
Check if any final food should be restocked or removed.
45 Minutes to Close:
Sweep and mop floors.
Clean espresso machine and grinders.
Sanitize countertops, POS, and prep stations.
Check bathrooms and tidy as needed.
Final checks on milk, syrup, and coffee restock levels for next day.
15 Minutes to Close:
Wipe all tables and chairs.
Check under tables for debris.
Tidy condiment bar.
Ensure cooler and food displays are fronted, fully dated, and stocked.
Double-check closing checklist items with teammate(s).
After Close (Final Tasks Before Leaving):
Take out final garbage and compost.
Lock up fridges and cabinets.
Post the closing report.
Post the tip report.
Clock out at 8:30 PM.
