Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager of the Clinical Virtual Care Team, the Clinical Therapist will provide assessment, psychotherapy, group facilitation, and consultation via virtual technologies to adults. The ability to deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions is required. As well, the incumbent will be required to work collaboratively with other service providers and community agencies in the context of providing care. The successful candidate will have training and experience delivering evidence-based interventions, in particular cognitive and behavioural therapies, for a range of disorders, including mood, anxiety, substance use, and trauma-related disorders.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Master\'s Degree in a clinical health-related discipline (Masters in Social Work, Psychology, Masters in Counseling, Masters in Nursing, or Masters in Occupational Therapy)
  • Current registration with relevant provincial regulatory body or eligible
  • Minimum two (2) years\' related experience required including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and discharge planning
  • In-depth and critical understanding of the principles of harm reduction, the dynamics of addiction, and evidence-based interventions for the treatment of addiction
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used (DSM-5) for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in individual/ group cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psycho-educational groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/ intervention
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Basic competencies in relation to identifying and treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders
  • Experience in interviewing, counseling, and teaching health concepts to individuals, families, and groups
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in collaborating with families in relation to sharing information, and implementing family-sensitive services that involve families in the care and recovery of people living with mental illness and addiction
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience required. If not available, candidates with less than two (2) years of experience may be considered for the selection process.
