About the job Reporting to the Director, Long Term Care & Senior Services, the Clinical Support Manager provides the highest level of vision and leadership to improve the overall clinical and quality/risk strategic plan to the homes. This role provides direction for best practices of care that is consistent with research evidence, professional standards, and in alignment with the mission, vision, and values. The incumbent works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health care teams within the long-term care homes of the County to ensure residents have an environment that is safe, comfortable and promotes maximum resident independence, and meets residents\' physical, emotional, spiritual, and social needs. This role provides oversight to the clinical management and staff within the Counties long-term care homes. Requirements
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Nursing, Health Administration or Business Administration
  • Current Certificate of Competence in good standing as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience and 5 years in a leadership role in long term care with demonstrated knowledge of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Ministry of Labour and Public Health
  • Certificate is Leadership is preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in key clinical programs including Skin & Wound, Infection Control, Pain, Continence, Medication Management, Dementia Care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work inter-dependently
  • A demonstrated commitment for professional development and continuing education
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate and build a team, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivating others, including coaching and supporting employee development
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain lasting working
  • Ability to lead a large division and work independently depending on task
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
