We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child and Youth Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support and resources to children and families in need, through private practice. This role requires a strong understanding of case management, special education, and client centered care, as well as the ability to conduct research and data collection to improve service delivery.
Duties
Assess the needs of children and their families through interviews and observations.
Develop and implement individualized care plans that address specific needs and goals.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, educators, and community resources to coordinate services.
Provide counselling and support to children facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, case notes, and progress reports.
Stay informed about current trends in social work practices through ongoing research.
Advocate for children's rights and access to necessary services within systems.
Educate families about available resources, including special education services and community programs.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience working with children in a one to one setting or educational setting is highly desirable.
Proven skills in case management and patient care practices.
Ability to conduct research and collect data effectively for program evaluation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
