Clinical Research Nurse Advisor CFRI, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Coordinate and manages multiple research studies and clinical trials, simultaneously, from planning to implementation to completion and evaluation.
  • Prepare ethical review applications and liaises with the Research Ethics Committee to determine the status of the applications and assists the PI\xe2\x80\x99s in resolving related issues.
  • Develop and edit protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s), and review protocols and agreements for ethical and scientific integrity and accuracy.
  • Manage regulatory documentation related to the study approval and renewal process.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely collection of data and proper handling of subject records. Assist in the design of databases and collaborate with CRSU in the statistical analysis of the data collected as required.
  • Recruit, train and provide leadership to research staff including summer students and graduate students. Establish responsibilities and schedules for staff and students to meet study requirements.
  • Recruit, consent and manage nursing care of subjects involved in clinical trials until the completion of the trial.
  • Prepare and negotiate budgets in collaboration with CFRI Finance. Monitor study budgets and track expenditures.

What you bring:
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a health discipline and five (5) to seven (7) years of recent, related experience in an academic health care organization, or a related industry. Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP), experience in general pediatric nursing, and understanding of clinical issues in pediatric medicine required. SOCRA & ACR accreditation an asset.

You will have:
  • Sound knowledge of medical, clinical, scientific and research terminology and methodology.
  • Experience with research practices and clinical trials administration.
  • Expert knowledge of ICH & GCP guidelines.
  • Clinical experience in the health care sector and the ability to evaluate service delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, coordination and communications skills.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission\xe2\x80\x99s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and other related reports.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have: Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (until March 01, 2025; FTE 0.50)
Salary Range: $80,935 - $116,344. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
