Site: Toronto Western Hospital
Department: Comprehensive Integrated Pain Program
Reports to: Clinical Manager
Hours: 22.5 hours per week
Status: Temporary Part-Time (approx 14 months)

University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Clinical Psychologist in our Comprehensive Integrated Pain Program.

The Interventional Pain Service at Toronto Western Hospital provides patients living with pain cutting-edge interventions, including intravenous ketamine infusions and spinal cord stimulation, which can be life changing. The responsibilities of the Clinical Psychologist include: assessment of paitents who are medically eligible for spinal cord stimulation or ketamine infusion, formulation of case conceptualization and appropriate mental health diagnoses, preparation of pscyhological reports shared with the interdisciplinary treatment team to guide treatment decisions, attending team consultation meetings, providing psycho-education on pain and pain coping, and providing psychological interventions to patients individually and in groups to optimize their functioning and well-being. Psychological treatment is provided to both inpatients and outpatients struggling to cope with acute and chronic pain. Psychologists may supervise and train clinical psychology practicum interns and/or post-doctoral fellows.
Qualifications

  • Completion of a PhD degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA and/or CPA - accredited university psychology program
  • Competency in clinical psychology with adults; specialization in Health Psychology and/or Rehabilitation Psychology is preferred
  • Completion of an APA and/or CPA accredited internship in Clinical Psychology
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Proof of malpractice insurance
  • Two (2) years or more experience in clinical psychology
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience writing comprehensive psychological assessment reports
  • Experience with empirically supported behavioural treatments including CBT, ACT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness (please clearly describe which therapies you feel prepared to provide in your application)
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of pain conditions, as well as mood and anxiety disorders
  • Experience in CBT for insomnia is an asset
