Detailed Overview:

In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, the Clinical Project Resource Nurse, as part of an interdisciplinary team, works in close collaboration with the Project Planning Leader, and is accountable for the development of appropriate, pertinent clinical standards, policies and processes and ensures standards, policies and processes are current and reflect the new design, meet operational readiness requirements. Works collaboratively with clinical operations professionals in the development of functional clinical space and is responsible for ensuring that the models of care for clinical services and programs are well defined, and operationally feasible. The Clinical Project Resource Nurse ensures a smooth transition for patients, families, clinicians, and staff.
Responsibilities:
Accountable as a team member for contributing to the work of the program project team and the success of the team in meeting the deliverables associated with any task groups and the requirements for each session are met, ensuring timely decision making and completion of all associated documentation. Compiles information and data in support of key strategies specific to the implementation of the project; provides feedback and reports to the Director/Manager as required. Acts as a clinical resource and consults and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and other professionals to promote excellence in patient/client centered care. Accountable for the development of appropriate, pertinent clinical standards, policies, and processes. Ensures standards, policies and processes are current and reflect the new design, meet operational readiness requirements. Ensures all materials are appropriate and available to team members within the appropriate time to foster efficient and effective decision making. Collaborates with team members in the identification and resolution of ethical, risk and quality dilemmas relating to any model of care changes. Brings best practice to the team through reviewing and summarizing interdisciplinary research, local/ national standards of practice, and best practices ensuring work is within clinical standards of care. Ensures input obtained from colleagues and ensures all information obtained is summarized and integrated into working group sessions and task teams for consideration. Supports the Project Planning Leader in preparing for working group meetings or task team sessions including meeting preparations, sessions activities and idea promotion during sessions, post session follow up, outcome completion, decision, action, and outcome documentation. Facilitates sessions as required. Liaises with other Program Teams and stakeholders to ensure necessary work processes that facilitate an integrated design. Works to support optimal standardization of care practices and associated workflow processes across the care settings while also supporting flexibility for unique requirements. Applies change management principles to develop engagement strategies and action plans to maximize likelihood of sustained success beyond project completion. Builds relationships with stakeholders such as physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and community partners, to ensure input into clinical and operational, processes and outcomes. Ensures appropriate draft documents and workflows, are reviewed by team members as appropriate and summarizes and integrates information in preparation for task team sessions. Participates in the review of equipment and IMIT deliverables to ensure accuracy, and ensures issues summarized. Contributes to status updates, project deliverables and outcomes. Works with Manager to address any work-related issues amongst the team. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training & Experience



Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Three (3) year's recent experience in substance use and mental health or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Valid Class V BC Drivers License and access to a vehicle for business-related purposes.



Skills & Abilities


Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client and family centered model of care. Broad knowledge of BCCNM Standards for Nursing/Psychiatric Nursing Practice. Demonstrated knowledge of regulations and standards related to medication management and clinical documentation. Demonstrated ability to represent the clinical specialty and across the continuum of care. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and work direction. Working knowledge of change and project management principles coupled with a strong understanding of the healthcare system and the clinical program that is being supported. Ability to motivate and influence leaders, physicians, and staff at all levels to embrace and act on transformation initiatives. Diplomatic negotiation and interpersonal skills and ability to influence without formal authority. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practice and work flows in other health care settings preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN or related process improvement principles preferred. Proven ability to engage and coordinate activities within and across work settings. Proven ability to generate required outcomes from initiatives with specific purpose. Demonstrated experience leading a team and fostering a respectful, motivating, and supportive environment. Ability to operate related equipment, including a personal computer and related software. * Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
