Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Women\'s Health, this position supports perinatal care at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women and Sturgeon Community Hospital. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is an essential member of an inter-professional health care team caring for women during the perinatal journey, including antepartum, intrapartum and post-partum. This position is responsible and accountable for the provision of evidence informed clinical practices in a high-risk tertiary level site. The successful candidate will be active in research activities and guide evidence informed curriculum and education. Strong communication and leadership skills are integral to the success of this role. The incumbent will strive to be a clinical resource and leader to support optimal perinatal patient care.

Description:

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you will provide an advanced level of nursing practice that maximizes the application of in-depth nursing theory, knowledge and skills in meeting the complex health care needs of individuals, families and communities. You will function as a nursing practice leader, consultant, expert practitioner, educator and researcher within a clinical specialty area. You will balance various roles depending upon the needs of the patient population and the healthcare team, collaborating on the provision of holistic and comprehensive care. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Masters of Nursing Degree. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years expertise in perinatal health, high-risk obstetrical care, including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care. Fetal Health Surveillance and NRP required. Recent adult learning/teaching experience required. Previous educator and/or leadership experience in perinatal health in a tertiary level hospital. Experience and practice knowledge working with vulnerable and marginalized populations in perinatal practice areas. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in policy, evidence-informed practice, teaching and research. Trauma informed practice experience.
