We\'re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.Position OverviewThe Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), Misericordia Health Centre (MHC) provides leadership and advances the delivery of comprehensive evidenced-based services to the population MHC serves.Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, as part of the multidisciplinary team, the CNS addresses key clinical issues and program priorities, provides leadership in promoting excellence in the delivery of nursing services, and provides direction related to nursing practice, standards, program development and evaluation, quality and research.Experience

  • Minimum five years of recent clinical experience in a variety of nursing roles relevant to the position.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Master\'s of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing with graduate course work in research methods required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with Employer policy.

  • College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba/Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses/Registered Psychiatric Nurses.
  • Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, if not a Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/ (Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act for RPNs in Mental Health).
  • Regional/Facility/unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
  • Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
  • Principles of collaborative practice.
  • Advanced nursing care knowledge related to clinical area.
  • Roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team.
  • Principles of delegation.

  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
